Sign the petition against PFOS soil in our Meuse lake
Despite the ruling of the Council of State, a permit was given the green light to dump 7 million cubic metres of “foreign soil” in the Meuse lake (HBVL, 14/12/21). That soil comes from the Oosterweel construction site in Antwerp, the centre of the PFOS scandal.
The Meuse lake is a recreation area for thousands of people — fishing, sailing, swimming, surfing — and water from the Meuse is used to irrigate hundreds of farms. In heavy rain, the Meuse needs its space.
